Academy-Award Winner Emma Thompson Stars In Brideshead Revisited

Based on Evelyn Waugh's 1945 classic British novel, Brideshead Revisited, will show this weekend on Fri 19 Dec at 2.30pm & 8pm, Sat 20 8pm and Sun 21 at 7.30pm.

This poignant and suspenseful drama tells an evocative story of forbidden love and the loss of innocence set in England, prior to World War II. Starring Emma Thompson as Lady Marchmain and Matthew Goode as Charles Ryder.

Charles Ryder becomes entranced with the noble Marchmain family, first through the charming and provocative Sebastian Flyte and later by his sophisticated sister, Julia. The rise and fall of Charles's infatuations reflects the decline of a decadent era in England between the wars.

Adapted for the screen by BAFTA award winner Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones' Diary) and Jeremy Brock (The Last King of Scotland).

“Brideshead boasts a handful of very strong performances and some intriguing new nuances.” The Independent
