The Pendulum Jazz Orchestra will be joined by Peter King at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Friday 30 January at 8pm.
Peter King is a vibrant and stunningly talented musician and has been named the godfather of jazz. He has had an illustrious career performing with numerous bands, orchestras and musicians. At the age of 19, Peter King was booked by Ronnie Scott to perform at the opening of his world-renowned jazz club and in the same year he received the Melody Maker “New Star” Award.
Peter has worked and with such legends as Bud Powell, Elvin Jones, Max Roach, Milt Jackson, Lalo Schifrin, Frank Foster's ‘new' Count Basie Band and the Ray Charles Orchestra. He has also recorded with Hampton Hawes, Al Haig, Philly Joe Jones, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, and many others, including Red Rodney. With natural-born talent and experience that spans decades, Peter King is a master of his instrument.
