Legendary local trumpeter Harry Pitch leads the Thames Valley Jazzmen in a lively performance of Dixieland jazz and swing at Norden Farm on Sunday 24 September at 7.30pm.
The Jazzmen will be playing tradition jazz sounds in the style of early Count Basie and Benny Goodman and the programme will include classics such as Basin St. Blues, South Rampart St Parade and I’ve Found a New Baby.
Harry Pitch leads the band on trumpet, and occasionally, his harmonica, which has been heard for many years during the credits on Last of the Summer Wine! The band’s line-up includes some of the UK’s most prolific jazz musicians such as Bobby Orr (Ted Heath, Benny Goodman), Don Innes (BBC Radio Orchestra) and Roy Wilcox (Ted Heath, Glenn Miller Orchestra) as well as local jazzman Clive Burton on trombone.
Harry Pitch and his Jazzmen promise an entertaining evening of exciting and foot-tapping jazz!
Tickets are £9.50 (£8 concession, £7 Associate Members), available from the Box Office on 01628 788997 or online here RSC Live: Macbeth
