Architecture in the Landscape using Line and Wash

Led by Jo Hall.

Use line and watercolour wash to depict a building in the landscape; this may be a humble croft or a castle. Bring your own reference or use that supplied by the tutor. There will be plenty of time to practice mark making and texturing with various tools/pens before making a more considered drawing and adding colour. Please bring your own materials and equipment as detailed below.

Materials and equipment:
Watercolours, brushes, water pots, palette
Drawing board, table easel or block to tilt your board, tape to attach paper, paper towel
India ink (preferably waterproof when dry), twig, dip pen (bamboo or metal)
Small natural sponge, old toothbrush
Paper; cartridge paper for exercises in mark making, watercolour paper NOT (cold pressed) or HP (hot pressed) surface for final painting
Some paper will be available from the tutor at cost.
