Festival of Choirs
Gillian Dibden MBE is well known across the UK for her award winning choral training record. She is delighted to be bringing together two of the country's leading choral organisations. Taplow Children's and Boys' Choir are hosts to a concert with Farnham Boys' Choir and Farnham Junior Girls' Choir. Gillian, together with David Victor-Smith (Founder of the Farnham Youth Choirs), are pleased to present these choirs under the leadership of conductors: Lucy Morris, Patrick Barrett and Jo McNally.
The joy of singing will be evident when these groups come together and the audience will be offered a feast of Children's Choral repertoire. Performance standards will be high and the evening will be a memorable one.
Gillian was named Sainsbury's Choral Director of the Year in 2002 and awarded a Churchill Fellowship in the same year. She travelled to Finland and South Africa to study choral training there. Her choirs have had numerous competitions successes over many years: Music for Youth, Let the Peoples Sing, Choir of the Year, Choir Olympics in Bremen, International Choral competition in Tours, and the Tallinn international choral competition in Estonia.
Gillian is the Academic Executive for the Montgomery Holloway Music Trust and a Vocal Consultant for Slough Music Service.
