Niamh’s been a carer for years and has just turned 60. She’s also dyslexic. Now, after months of lockdown hell, she's ready to confront anything, even her literacy demons.

Her friend Deodora enters Niamh for Blackpool’s Country Music Festival. Niamh undertakes her first significant reading challenge – The Country Music Songbook.

But she needs help desperately and somehow persuades Norman, the local choirmaster, to coach her.

He’s posh, she’s not. A rocky alliance ensues.

Inspired by Dolly Parton’s story, Goodbye Jolene follows a woman’s journey of transformation, bravely searching for a better life before it’s too late.

Presented by Take the Space Theatre Company who have previously brought White Feather Boxer, Sam And I, Stella and Hanging Hooke to Norden Farm.
