An introduction to the basic calligraphy alphabet and beginners techniques to make letter forms. Gain an understanding of the basic structure and foundation of lettering.
You will also learn about the materials and tools and how to use them.
Materials list will be sent out before the course begins, you will need the basics of pen, pencil, ruler and paper.

The classes will take place via a video stream on Zoom where you'll be able to use the camera and audio on your tablet, laptop or other device to see and hear the tutor and other participants.
You simply need to book on to your class or workshop of choice as normal by the cut off time. We'll then send you an email with a link to your session, password and a meeting ID. These will be emailed to you after the booking cut off time, shortly before the class begins.

We will explore how light falls across landscapes, seascapes and across the sky to create images of mood and drama using paint and oil pastels. Led by Artist Amelia Pimlott, this is a friendly class and a fun way to start your week.

Whether or not you haven’t picked up a pencil for years or want to brush up on your painting skills, this course covers detailed elements of Drawing & Painting focussing on animal portraits and nature studies and still life. Amanda Schenk is the visual artist behind Norden Farm's much-loved (and Instagrammed) glass corridor artwork in the school holidays. Join Amanda for this new drawing course, aimed at helping to create a sense of calm and relaxation through drawing patterns.
Suitable for all abilities, the workshops will focus on building confidence in your drawing abilities - concentrating on the soothing journey of the drawing experience, rather than the finished drawing.
In each session you'll explore how to produce different types of patterns in abstract drawings - looking at different designs each week.
You will need: paper (plain, no smaller than A5), lead pencil, eraser, sharpener, black fine liner or a pen. Optional is a black marker.

Building on our devising skills from last term we will begin to develop our understanding of ensemble in performance. Using extracts from published texts we will use these as a starting point to create our own original Youth Theatre ensemble performance in the Spring.

Feeling the need to wind down and relax, have a little bit of time to yourself? Come along and enjoy some yoga and relaxation with Julie. Practice gentle spinal movements to relax and rejuvenate the nervous system, basic yogic breathing techniques and guided meditations.
These classes are suitable for everyone, with or without previous yoga experience. Please bring a blanket, a yoga/pilates mat, and wear loose comfortable clothing.
