The Carnival of the Animals: Lantern Trail

The Lantern Parade is BACK – just not as you know it!

For over 10 years, Norden Farm has thrown light onto Maidenhead High Street as part of the annual Lantern Parade, and we can’t let Covid extinguish the magical lanterns.

Our 2020 Lantern Trail is a covid-friendly community project which will illuminate Maidenhead following a dark year. Keep an eye on this page and our social media channels for announcements about locations and our Lantern Trail map.

You can also get involved with our online on-demand Lantern Making Workshops - so that you can get creative and make your very own lantern to illuminate your way on the trail. Find out more and purchase your Lantern Making Kit here.

Pinocchio

The third in a series of three shows coming to the Norden Farm stage for Christmas 2020.

The objects of a carpenter’s workshop bring to life the tale of the puppet that wants to be a real boy, and the puppet-maker who wants to be a real father. A one man show starring Steve Tiplady, as Geppetto.

Pinocchio is carved on stage, brushes become a fox and the shadow of two saws transforms into a giant shark. An element of improvisation makes each performance unique to its audience.

Puppetry, shadows, illusion and especially composed music combine to create a show with something for all ages; it’s inventive, visually and verbally witty with a big heart.
