Lunana: A Yak In The Classroom (PG)

PG
Dir: Pawo Choyning Dorji 2019 | 109 mins

Dzongkha with English subtitles.

The Lunana school is not only the most remote school in Bhutan, but it is probably the most remote school in the world.

Ugyen is a disillusioned schoolteacher. He is four years into five years of mandatory service when he is reluctantly transferred to teach at the school.

It is deep in the Himalayan glaciers and cut off from modern life. In a classroom with no electricity or even a blackboard, he finds a yak, who lives there out of the cold.
