My Darling Clementine

There are no scheduled instances of My Darling Clementine. You can view similar events below.

My Darling Clementine are Lou Dalgleish and Michael Weston King, performing with Steve Nieve.

Their latest tour is in support of their most recent, critically acclaimed release Country Darkness - the songs of Elvis Costello. It is a collaboration between Michael, Lou and Costello's long-time, right-hand man Steve Nieve.

The duo will perform Elvis Costello songs as well as favourites from their 10 year back catalogue.

The music of My Darling Clementine is rooted in traditional and classic country. It is an homage to the late 60s / early 70s countrypolitan style - and the duets of Johnny Cash and June Carter, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Dolly and Porter.

But King and Dalgleish are also remarkable songwriters so this is no mere covers show.

'My Darling Clementine mix country noir with excellent musicianship and very fine songs' The Guardian

'Costello’s songs, King and Dalgleish’s voices, Nieve’s keys... it’s a perfect fit' American Songwriter

'Masterly cinematic interpretations' 8/10 Uncut

Flash - A Tribute to Queen

Flash – Hit after hit, anthem after anthem, guaranteed to blow your mind, as quoted by the BBC ‘as close as it gets’.

Flash - A Tribute to Queen, established in 2001 brought together the finest musicians from several Queen Tribute shows to form a ‘best of the best’ live tribute to the musical legacy of Freddie Mercury and Queen.

Every member of the group has been creatively and technically inspired by Queen, each using replica equipment, adding that extra sound characteristic and obvious visual treat to the decerning fan, they take great satisfaction and pride in producing a show that performed in authentic costumes, brings back all the magic that made every Queen concert so very special.

Entering their 52nd year, Queen amassed a huge back catalogue of hit records and it’s been hard work trying to construct a show that captures their creative history in such a small amount of stage time - but the band guarantee the show to be a non-stop jukebox of the very best of Queen, hit after hit, anthem after anthem, with audience participation at a high from the very start.

The Carrivick Sisters

The Carrivick Sisters are one of the UK's top young bluegrass and folk acts.

Twins Laura and Charlotte perform their original songs and instrumentals along with a few carefully chosen covers on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, and clawhammer banjo. Their busy touring schedule is rapidly building them a reputation for engaging and entertaining live performances with tight sibling vocal harmonies and multi-instrumental virtuosity. Having grown up in South Devon, an area rich in folk lore and legends, much of their original material is inspired by their local surroundings and history.

The Carrivick Sisters first started performing as a duo in 2006, originally as buskers before turning professional when they left school in 2007. In 2007 they won the South West Busker’s and Street Entertainer’s Competition, gaining themselves their first spot at Glastonbury Festival. In 2008 Laura achieved 2nd place at the RockyGrass Fiddle Contest in America. The Carrivick Sisters were finalists in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young FolkAwards 2010 and were named Band|Duo of the Year in the 2011 FATEA Awards. Most recently Charlotte won first place in both Old-time banjo and fiddle at FOAOTMAD's festival in Gainsborough 2012.

'Demonstrating rare instrumental and vocal superiority that puts their colleagues to shame… this is one duo which is going places' ★★★★★ Maverick Magazine

Maidenhead Operatic Society: Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Maidenhead Operatic Society presents

Stephen Sondheim’s iconic award winning musical, which is in turn both comic and chilling.

Bloodthirsty barber Sweeney Todd has sworn revenge on the judge who destroyed his life. He now holds Todd’s beautiful daughter prisoner. Mrs Lovett needs to save her failing pie-shop. Together they hatch a murderous plan which could solve both problems…

Set in the backstreets of Victorian London, this dark and blood-soaked tale is widely regarded as having Sondheim’s finest score.

Sweeney Todd depicts scenes of a sensitive and violent nature. This is an amateur production.

Acoustic Guitar - Absolute Beginners

Led by Richard Lee.

Always wanted to learn guitar but never got around to it? Want to trade your air guitar skills for real guitar skills? It is never too late to learn. Learn guitar right from the very beginning. This is a foundation course for those with little to no experience of playing guitar. You will learn how to hold a guitar and to make the right noises out of it. The aim of these lessons is to get you playing your first song within 4 weeks of lessons, as no-one takes up guitar to strum random chords, it’s all about the songs.

If you are returning to guitar having not played for some time and can barely remember chords this is a great way of getting back into the swing of things.
