Painting on Black Paper 1: gouache and watercolour

Use gouache and watercolour to paint a posy of Autumn or Winter flowers, berries and seed heads.

Some flowers will be supplied or bring your own. Black paper will be available at cost from the tutor.

Watercolour or gouache paint, and a tube of titanium white gouache (often sold as 'brilliant white')

Watercolour brushes to include a small brush size 1 or 2 and a medium sized brush size 4 or 5.

We’ll be working in a relatively detailed way so a fairly smooth black paper; cold pressed or hot pressed would be best. As we will not be working very wet almost any fairly heavy black paper or card world work. About A4 or A3 size.

Drawing board, small block of wood or table easel, tape to attach paper, water pots, palette and paper towel.

Suitable for ages 18+ years.
