Painting on Black Paper 2: using iridescent, interference or metallic, pastels or watercolours

These colours lend themselves to pattern and decorative approaches. Work with these colours alone or in conjunction with regular watercolours or pastels. Sea creatures, corals and shells make good subjects or even a Northern lights sky or a winter frost. Some references will be supplied and paper will be available at cost. Please bring you own materials as in the info below.


Bring black paper; cold pressed watercolour paper or pastel paper, at least A3, about 12 x 16 inches

Either iridescentmetallicinterference watercolour or pastel (oil or soft pastel)

Your ordinary colours in your chosen medium.

Wet media artists will also need water pots, brushes, palettes, masking tape.

All artists will need paper towel, tape or clips to attach paper, drawing board and small block of wood or table easel.
