The John Horler and Alec Dankworth Duo

The piano and double bass duo return following the success of their previous concert.

They have worked together for many years with many acts including the late Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine.

Alec and John have just recorded a new album and will be playing a selection from it, including:

  • Princess – a classic John Dankworth piece
  • Lost in the stars - the beautiful Kurt Weill number
  • I could write a book - the famous Rogers and Hart song, beloved of the greats like Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan
  • Evidence - by Thelonious Monk, recorded first with John Coltrane in 1957
  • Two tunes from the late Kenny Wheeler’s suite Windmill Tilter

Plus two brand new John Horler compositions!
