An emotional and hilarious story with a life-affirming message, The Last Journey explores a loving son’s attempts to coax his aging father into reengaging with life by embarking on a joyous, heartfelt road trip through the South of France.

Swedish TV hosts Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson take Hammar’s father Lars on a road trip to France. Recently retired after 40 years as a French teacher, Lars has painfully retreated into himself with age.

So, Filip and Fredrik bundle him off to retrace the same road trip through the south of France the family used to go on when Filip was a child. Restaging some of the most evocative moments from their shared history amid beautiful scenery, they try their best to rekindle Lars’ spark.
