A rare opportunity to hear flute, viola and harp playing together. Formed in 2011, The Pelleas Ensemble have won numerous prizes including both the Grand Prize and the Audience Prize in the St Martin-in-the-Fields competition in 2016. They have been praised for creating an immediate and intimate connection with their audiences. Playing with ‘verve and polish’ (The Times) they recently won a Royal Philharmonic award.

The Wihan Quartet has been described by International Record Review as: ‘one of the best quartets in the world today.’ Celebrated for over 30 years, it has developed an outstanding reputation for the interpretation of music of its Czech heritage, and of the many masterpieces of the string quartet repertoire.

The Quartet’s recording of Dvorak Op.105 was chosen as ‘Recording of the Year’ by MusicWeb International. BBC Music Magazine said of their Dvorak Op.61 recording: ‘This is the finest recorded performance I have encountered to date’.

The Dime Notes

The Dime Notes dig back into the blues-drenched sounds of clarinet-driven 1920s New Orleans jazz.

Unearthing a repertoire of stomps, blues and forgotten gems of the era. Featuring Chris Barber’s long-time clarinettist David Horniblow , US pianist Andrew Oliver, guitarist Dave Kelbie of Evan Christopher’s Django à la Creole fame and bassist Louis Thomas.

John Fisher and IDMC Gospel Soul Choir

John Fisher and IDMC bring their multiple award winning, infectious gospel sound.

They perform traditional songs and tracks from their albums that span the past 25 years. The choir have collaborated with artists such as Michael Bublé, Luciano Pavarotti, Heather Small and Sting.

Musical Memories

Led by Rona Topaz

A sociable choir for people living with dementia, led by a professional singer.

Even if you think you can’t sing a note, join in with popular jazz, pop and movie theme tunes from the 1940s through to 1980s. Songs covered include Fly Me To the Moon, Que Sera Sera, Edelweiss, You Are My Sunshine, King of the Road and more!

Carers don’t have to be present, so it’s a chance to have a little respite and relax in the Café Bar.
