The digital arts club. Improve, develop and learn various arts with a digital focus. Work on group or personal projects over the 10 week term. Have fun filming, podcasting, creating stop-motion animation, using green screen special effects and more!

Suitable for all levels of experience for School Year 7 – 13.

Explore areas of artistic expression and how you see and record what is in front of you. Through a series of drawing exercises, discover how to perceive your chosen subject matter and learn how to overcome some common drawing challenges.

Painting: Ink and Watercolour

Friday 27 February

Through a series of drawing & painting exercises you will discover how to perceive your chosen subject matter & learn how to overcome some common challenges. With loads of tips and techniques you will learn how to combine & compare working with coloured inks & watercolour paints and see the wonderful benefits of working with this media

Still Life: Picasso

Friday 27 March

We look at the work of Artist Picasso, Cubism and then at viewpoints. Working on a still life piece Students create a layered piece using water soluble pencil work. With a focus on line & composition & colour.

Print and Mixed Media: Butterflies

Friday 24 April

We look at the work of contemporary Artist Damien Hurst, with a focus on colour and symmetry, finally creating your own beautiful mixed media and print piece based on this research and learning.

Participants are required to bring some materials.

Simon Allen (saxes)

Berkshire born Simon has scaled the heights to become one of the UK's top jazz performers.

He is joined by Malcolm Edmondstone (piano), Mike Soper (trumpet, flugel), Andy Crowdy (bass) and Clark Tracey (drums). They'll be playing tunes such as Speak Low, Come rain or Come Shine, Joy Spring , What is this thing Called Love and In a Sentimental Mood.


Students from Norden Farm's Schools Jazz Day will be performing at 6.45pm.
