In Dublin, veterinary student Rose discovers on her birth certificate that she was named Julie before her adoption. Resolved to finally meet her birth mother, actor Ellen, Rose investigates before finally revealing her identity. This in turn provokes another, unexpected revelation about her father, that compels Rose to assume the parallel name of Julie and get close to the truth.
