Young Leaders is supported by the Spoore, Merry and Rixman Foundation
As well as our Work Experience programme we also run the Young Leadership Scheme.
Young Leaders play an important part of the holidays at Norden Farm assisting craft sessions and front of house activity, working alongside professional arts practitioners and leading an end of week open workshop for local children and families.
The programme, which runs throughout the Easter and summer holidays is open to young people, aged 14- 17 years.
During the Summer Holiday 2022 we will be running three Young Leader's programmes:
Circus Week From Tuesday 26 to Friday 29 July Two Young Leaders will join our team to assist with Circus Week at Norden Farm with And Circus, helping the team to teach and develop Circus Skills to a group of young people throughout the week, culminating with a final performance on the Friday. In addition to this our Young Leaders will plan and deliver an artistic workshop for our Creative Arts Social Club Crafternoon as well as creating marketing material and gaining hands on experience of working in a thriving Art Centre.
Drama Week From Tuesday 9 to Friday 12 August Two Young Leaders will join our drama team this week to assist with the creation of our Play in Four Days. Helping to deliver workshops to a group of young people who will be writing and performing a play. Young Leaders will help with workshops, create a poster and marketing materials for Norden Farm, and will deliver their own 45 minute workshop to the group.
Art Week From Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 August During this week we will take two Young Leaders on an artistic adventure, participants will take part in many exciting artistic workshops, assisting our on site artist to deliver a programme of arts events to young people, creating posters and marketing materials for Norden Farm and running their own workshop on Friday 19 April.
Participation in this course can be used toward Bronze, Silver or Gold Arts Award and DofE Award.
