Avalon are the UK's leading comedy agent - they bring two top comedians previewing their material ahead of the Edinburgh Festival this summer.

Steve Bugeja was crowned the 2013 BBC Radio New Comedy Award winner. He was a finalist in the Amused Moose and Laughing Horse new act competitions, making him one of the stand out new acts of the past few years. Steve has supported Russell Kane on tour and has written for Mock The Week, 8 out of 10 Cats and Russell Howard’s Good News.
Steve won the BBC’s Funny on Three sitcom competition along with his writing partner, developing a pilot script with BBC Comedy North. He also won the BBC’s Jesting About 2 sketch competition and has also contributed material to Radio 4’s The Show What You Wrote and BBC Radio 4 Extra’s topical sketch show Newsjack.

‘His social nightmares make for assured comedy, and it’s easy to see why the audience listening at home voted him the BBC New Comedy Award winner of 2013. Greater things surely await’ Chortle

As a solo live performer Steve Hall has provided the support for Russell Howard on his sell out national tours Adventures, Dingledodies and the 2009 arena tour Big Rooms And Belly Laughs.
His recent work has included writing on Russell Howard's Good News and a second series of writing for BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show.
Steve makes up one third of if.comedy Award nominated sketch show We Are Klang. They have performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, where they were nominated for a Barry Award. The group appeared on the Paramount Comedy Channel’s Edinburgh & Beyond two years running and won the Chortle Best Sketch Show award. They also had their own sitcom series on BBC Three.

'This is stand up as it should be: snappy and smart, occasionally nasty, and always funny' The List

The Britpop Hour with Marc Burrows

A stand-up, musical and multimedia celebration of one of British music’s most iconic and enduring movements.

Marking the 30th anniversary of the genre’s pinnacle: the 1995 Blur / Oasis chart battle, as well as coinciding with the reformed Oasis’ record-busting reunion tour, the show delves into the ridiculous stories, the OTT personalities and the enduring rivalries, all while celebrating some of the best music Britain has ever produced.

Part warm, trivia-packed tribute, part send-up and part one-man rock ‘n’ roll party, The Britpop Hour is written and performed by award winning music journalist, author, comedian, musician and 90s refugee Marc Burrows (The Guardian, The Quietus, The Independent, Big Issue, New Statesman). Mad fer’it, do ya know what I mean?

Shaparak Khorsandi: Scatterbrain

Having reassessed her life through the prism of an ADHD diagnosis in last year's funny and moving memoir, one of Britain's most beloved and most scatterbrained stand-ups lets you back into her mind (warning: it's cluttered in there).

Among other things, this show will be a love-letter to letter-writing, a trip back through her early years as a comic and woman-about-town and a whirlwind tour of a chaotic, hilarious brain.

'More passion, urgency and relevance than ever' ★★★★ Chortle

‘She has plenty to say, and says it with pointedness and potency’ Guardian

‘Has the crowd in the palm of her hand’ The List

‘Makes live comedy thrilling’ Evening Standard

‘I laughed all the way through and left inspired’ Funny Women
