The glitz of the Jazz Age combines with the buffoonery and wit of The Ealing Comedies.

With original comic and cool songs, razor sharp lyrics and virtuoso playing – expect Noel Coward meets the Bonzos.

‘The wordplay should appeal to anyone who's ever regarded Terry Thomas as a role model’ MOJO

The setlist includes classics such as Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue (Has anybody seen my girl?), Luck be a Lady and Angel Eyes.

Paul trained at the Paris studio of Philippe Gaulier and Monika Pagneux. He has toured throughout the UK, Germany, Spain, Canada and Hong Kong. He’ll be performing in Carmen at this year’s Glyndebourne Festival.

He is joined by three friends and accomplished musicians:

Leslee Booth (bass) has been a professional musician for thirty years, after studying at The Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. He worked on Gloria Gaynor’s number one hit I Will Survive and has lent support to some of the best American jazz names such as the legendary singer Billy Eckstine. He is an important member of the guitar based Branco Stoysin Trio, who perform regularly on the British jazz circuit scene. Leslee currently plays a six-string contra-bass.

David Rohoman (drums) was born in Guyana, South America. On moving to London he played in various rock bands where he was spotted by Ian Dury, who persuaded him to join The Kilburns. He has remained on the jazz circuit, performing with some of Britain’s finest musicians including Jim Mullen, Dave Newton, Django Bates and Mornington Locket.

Vladimir Miller (piano) has been awarded two British Council sponsored grants to work in Moscow and he Russian republic of Tuva. He helped form the Moscow Composers Orchestra, which he now directs. The orchestra has toured across Europe including Germany, Italy and Switzerland. They have performed at the Bolzano Jazz Festival in Italy, Vienna Russian Festival in Austria and Mimi Jazz Festival in France. Their concert at London’s South Bank was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

WHY? ‘Vocalist Paul Gunn, a sort of continuation of Viv Stanshall by other means, crooned his way expertly with such wit, panache and musical expertise that the audience were baying for more’ Venue Magazine
