The 25 piece orchestra returns to Norden Farm.

The young lions of Pendulum will be joined by featured guest artist Julian Siegel (sax). Julian is a well known name on the UK and European jazz scene. He has received the BBC Jazz Award for Best Instrumentalist, and worked with the likes of Django Bates, Laurie Anderson and Kenny Wheeler.

Other special guests from the jazz elite include Henry Lowther (trumpet), Clark Tracy (drums), Simon Allen (saxes) and Adam Goldsmith (guitar).

The orchestra’s CD is nominated for ‘Re-issue CD of the Year 2016’. Expect a festival of jazz in one swinging, fiery, creative night. The set list will include a selection of pieces that have been specially composed for The Pendulum Jazz Orchestra by top musicians, as well as Standards.

A memorable evening– creating echoes of Summer thunder, Autumn storms and evoking still, clear nights of Winter.

This evening is presented by Jazz at the Farm.

Always wanted to learn guitar but never got around to it? Want to trade your air guitar skills for real guitar skills? It is never too late to learn. Learn guitar right from the very beginning. This is a foundation course for those with little to no experience of playing guitar. You will learn how to hold a guitar and to make the right noises out of it. The aim of these lessons is to get you playing your first song within 4 weeks of lessons, as no-one takes up guitar to strum random chords, it’s all about the songs.

If you are returning to guitar having not played for some time and can barely remember chords this is a great way of getting back into the swing of things.

Beginners B - Well on the way and able to do bar chords

Beginners C - Almost Intermediate but not quite yet.

Puccini’s devastating tragedy about a young geisha who falls in love with an American naval officer.

When the young geisha, Cio-Cio-San, marries American Naval Officer Pinkerton, she believes she is entering a real, binding marriage for life. Forsaking her religion and community, she learns all too late that for Pinkerton, their marriage is merely an illusion – with tragic consequences.

With a score that includes Butterfly’s aria, 'Un bel dì, vedremo' (‘One fine day’) and the Humming Chorus, Giacomo Puccini’s opera is entrancing and ultimately heart-breaking. Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier’s exquisite production takes inspiration from 19th-century European images of Japan.

Asmik Grigorian and Hrachuhí Bassénz share the role of Cio-Cio-San, with Kevin John Edusei conducting.
