Café Bar

Our Café Bar is planted in the middle of the Norden Farm site. The award winning architecture is situated between the 18th century Farmhouse and Long Barn – the two historic parts of this converted dairy farm. You’ll see us next to the main theatre and dance studio.

From the road, you’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a gigantic willow sculpture planted in the wildflower meadow in front of Norden Farm’s barns. It was created for is by artist Trevor Leat. This time of year it’s so beautiful and filled with butterflies and bees.

Back in the Café Bar, artwork on the walls keep you posted about upcoming films, gigs, plays and classes. The Box Office is open all day so you can book for something fun while you’re here. Tell staff what you’re interested in seeing or taking part in and they’ll recommend something special for you. The music you’ll hear comes courtesy of forthcoming gigs. A poster next to the specials board tells you who’s playing and when they’re on.

The Café Bar is open throughout the day and evening, for fair trade artisanal coffees and teas as well as lunch and supper menus.

Our food offer includes grazing plates, robust family favourites and indulgent deserts. Daily Specials are chalked up on the black board and always include a vegetarian option.

Sit outside for a relaxing al fresco eating experience. Craft beers from local brewers such as Rebellion, Loddon and Lovibonds together with carefully selected wines can be drunk at tables in the outdoor courtyard. A fabulous alternative to the ubiquitous beer garden.

The furniture is hand made by blacksmith Conan Sturdy. He used vintage railway sleepers and welded custom made metal frames in his own smithy. Each piece is branded individually with his own branding iron – see if you can spot his mark. Did you know that the Café Bar is home to two specially commissioned artworks? The Poured Wall is by abstract painter Liza Gough Daniels and represents the milk from when we were a dairy farm.
