Intermediate Yoga

Led by Julie Potter

This class is suited to those who have been practising for at least 6. My intention for this class is to move our practise forward, explore different avenues and approaches to the traditional postures. We will be aiming to be going deeper into ‘awareness’ and ‘noticing’.

The yoga I teach is an evolution of over 20 years of practice and study, perhaps moving away from ‘external’ evaluation of the postures and moving towards an ‘internal’ sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential approach. Whilst looking at traditional Hatha Yoga postures and pranayamas, I will be encouraging fun and freedom within the traditional structure, whilst taking into our awareness fundamental anatomical and functional aspects required by our bodies for maximum wellbeing benefits.

Please bring a blanket, a yoga / Pilates mat, and wear loose comfortable clothing.

Pottery: Press Moulds & Slab Building

Led by Helen D Evans

This 4 week course is for people with all abilities, whether you want to come and give pottery a try or if you have some experience of working with clay.

If you are new to clay then Helen will guide you through exploring two different techniques, whilst more experienced learners may want to use the time to work on their own projects based on using Press Moulds and Slab Building.

You will spend three weeks exploring Press Moulds and incorporating Slab Building into your process. The final week will be spent glazing. This session will be slightly longer to give you time to decorate your pieces (3hrs).

Your work will then be fired off-site and then ready to collect from Norden Farm approximately 4-6 weeks later.

The price includes: clay, use of tools, underglazes, a selection glazes and 2x firing of your work.

You may want to bring with you:
Sketchbook for ideas / with ideas
Pens / pencils
A cloth to wipe your hands on
An apron
Any clay tools you may have.
A plastic bag to store your work

The Luminous

3 women. A book. One unforgettable night.

Part Victorian thriller, part contemporary tale of friendship and rebellion. This time-travelling, genre-busting new show combines RedCape Theatre's unique blend of physical theatre, dark comedy and gripping storytelling.

As protestors gather outside the hospital where they work, three women meet up for a monthly book club. This month's book is Luminous. A dark delve into Victorian London, where lurid stories are brought to life for entertainment in the penny gaff theatres: tales of an anonymous killer haunting the city and women whose bones glow through their skin.

In the twenty-first century living room, the wine is flowing and the discussion is getting heated. Mighty thinks the book is outrageous, Mags thinks it's the best thing she's ever read, and Alice hasn't got past page three. As the women get drawn deeper into the story, memories surface, unexpected connections are made, and the worlds begin to blur.

Age recommendation: 14+ years
