Dir: Steve McQueen 2024 | 266 mins (including an interval)
Where do the memories of a city go? From Oscar and BAFTA winning filmmaker and Turner Prize-winning visual artist Steve McQueen, comes this mesmerising and monumental excavation of how the past haunts our precarious present: mirroring it and warning us in plain sight.
Informed by the book Atlas of an Occupied City: Amsterdam 1940-1945 written by Bianca Stigter, the documentary creates two interlocking portraits. One shows the city’s devastating Nazi occupation through door-to-door accounts – tales of Jewish persecution, of resistance, collaboration, valour, and denial.
The other is a vivid journey through the last years of pandemic and protest. The combination has a transformative effect with which McQueen opens up a poetic, dreamlike space where unthinkable history and hope for a new future co-exist.

Dir: Matthew Wachus | 117 mins
Matilda Wormwood is a little girl with big curiosity, a sharp mind and a vivid imagination - and the worst parents in the world.
While her parents content themselves with trashy TV and dodgy money-making schemes, she loves to lose herself in the pages of her beloved books. Where they are loud, selfish and unkind she is a quiet observer, thinking up small and cheeky acts of rebellion and revenge.
On meeting her inspirational teacher Miss Honey, Matilda is encouraged and begins conjuring her own fantastical tales. Excited to attend Crunchem Hall, Matilda is surprised to find the school is an ominous and oppressive place led by the huge and villainous Miss Trunchbull.
Filled with an overwhelming sense of justice, Matilda dares to take a stand for what is right and teach Trunchbull a lesson she won't forget.
‘We are revolting children, living in revolting times! Tim Minchin’s genius lyrics make this a smash hit, with Alisha Weir, for all ages. See you at the singalong version’ Metro

Buenos Klezmer perform uplifting and heart-warming authentic Jewish folk music of the Eastern European shtetl and Sephardic world.
Vocalist Maya Levy weaves a fascinating tale of these long ago worlds while clarinettist Livia Frankish wails, guitarist Eyal Pik serenades and cellist Mayda Narvey straddles the support of stand up bass and the interweaving melodies. With consistently sold-out performances, this is a foot-stomping, heart-warming band.
Audience reviews from Tsitsit Fringe Festival at Toulouse Lautrec, London:
'Great gig - brilliant music especially Buenos Klezmer'
'A truly magical evening'
Buenos Klezmer debuted in 2019 at The Jazz Room, London. The quartet met while playing for Shabbat Shira (a participatory musical Friday night song service to mark the start of the Jewish Sabbath at West London Synagogue). Being all of Jewish background, both Sephardi and Ashkenazi, they decided to form an ensemble to play specifically secular Jewish songs and Klezmer instrumental music. They play Yiddish & Ladino songs and Klezmer, spanning the breadth of Jewish secular music and have performed to sell out audiences at venues including several returns to The Jazz Room, JW3, Green Note Camden and OSO Barnes.
