Intermediate Yoga

Led by Julie Potter

This class is suited to those who have been practising for at least 6. My intention for this class is to move our practise forward, explore different avenues and approaches to the traditional postures. We will be aiming to be going deeper into awareness and noticing.

The yoga I teach is an evolution of over 20 years of practice and study, perhaps moving away from external evaluation of the postures and moving towards an internal sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential approach. Whilst looking at traditional Hatha Yoga postures and pranayamas, I will be encouraging fun and freedom within the traditional structure, whilst taking into our awareness fundamental anatomical and functional aspects required by our bodies for maximum wellbeing benefits.

Please bring a blanket, a Yoga / Pilates mat, and wear loose comfortable clothing.

Qigong is a system of wellness that enhances a healthy body, mind and spirit.

It is an ancient Chinese way of life that uses exercises with breathing to focus the mind, to gather and increase energy through the body from within. It is a technique that can be useful in daily life for self-care as it calms the mind and hence has a positive effect on the body. Modern research has demonstrated its effectiveness in health improvement. Qigong philosophy has been absorbed into Tai Chi.

Clare, who is a physiotherapist and accredited Tai Chi instructor, will guide you and adapt the movements to be safe and comfortable for the individual. Each gentle, simple movement is followed by a cleansing breath. It can be done seated or standing and to your own level of ability.

Align and Flow Yoga

Led by Deborah Le Vene-Page

Align and Flow Yoga is influenced by the biomechanics and heart orientated philosophy of the Anusara Hatha style of yoga. With a specific alignment focus within the flow of postures the practice will tone and strengthen the body, improve posture and create more freedom in the body and mind resulting in a calm and relaxed state of being.

Each week there will be a different theme weaving its’ way through the session, but a typical class starts with breathing techniques to centre and ground, poses to warm up and then progresses to a fun and challenging mix of vinyasa and alignment yoga.

This class is designed to cultivate focus, stamina, strength, and flexibility. Leaving time at the end for a well-deserved relaxation.

Come prepared for an energising class that will also leave you feeling relaxed.

- Cartridge paper or a sketchbook and pencil to work out ideas

Beginners/Gentle Yoga

Led by Julie Potter

This class is particularly suited to beginners, those returning to yoga having had a break, those with specific injuries or conditions or even those that consider themselves to be of a certain age that might need a less challenging approach. We will cover general breathing practises, the basic and gentler postures, together with general information and possible discussion around movement and the potential difficulties we might come up against.

The aim will be to relax and enjoy.

The yoga I teach is an evolution of nearly 30 years of practice and study, with a broad experience of many styles and teachers. In recent years I have been moving away from ‘external’ evaluation of the postures and moving towards an internal sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential and felt approach, influenced by teachers who have been inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.

Please bring a blanket, a Yoga / Pilates mat, and wear loose comfortable clothing

Baby Signing

Led by Funky Monkeys

Have you ever wondered what your baby is thinking or feeling? Would it help if they could communicate those thoughts and feelings to you?

Sign and rhyme teaches parents / carers and their little ones, simple sign language that enables them to communicate before speech takes over. Just like waving and clapping, your baby can learn to tell you when they’re hungry, in pain or just that they’ve seen a dog! This is empowering to them and hugely rewarding for you! In most cases babies who sign learn to talk sooner than their non-signing peers.

Signs are used in class, like actions, to accompany songs and nursery rhymes and with an array of props, puppets, instruments and the use of disco lights, bubbles and parachutes to enhance the sensory experience and make learning more fun.

There's also:
* Free on-site parking
* Café (open all day)
* Baby changing facilities

Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Carers all welcome with their babies under 18 months

Glass Optics

Led by Bombina Glass

Fusing glass is the process of melting pieces of glass together in a kiln to create a solid, single piece of glass. This process can be used to create various objects such as bowls, vases, and sculptures.

Fused glass can be created using different techniques, including adding colour, texture, and design using materials like glass stringers.

The fusing process involves controlling the temperature and time in the kiln to achieve the desired result.

Glass optics fusing with stringers is a technique in which thin threads of fusible glass known as stringers are fused together to create unique patterns in fused glass creations. This technique uses volume control and displacement to physically change the shape of lines, creating an appearance like a graph of harmonic waves.

The class teaches how to distort a linear pattern of stringers into a repeatable and intentional pattern, and how the chemicals in glass can react together to add interest and patterns in the final fused creation. The class aims to expand the knowledge of fusing enthusiasts and beginners a like and allows for the creation of a 15cm x 15cm glass bowl using a variety of colours of glass and stringers.

All materials and equipment are provided, and the workshop lasts for three hours.

During the workshop, we will look at some samples of work that can be produced and discuss patterns, colour combinations, and the effects of glass reactions. After, we will cut the stringers and arrange them on the tile to go into the kiln for an overnight firing.

The pieces will be ready and posted to you after the class.

Gong Relaxation & Meditation

Led by Janette Moy

This session will start with you laying down cosy and Janette will guide you into a deeply relaxed state using body and breath awareness.

Then the gorgeous Gong vibrations will be played that will soothe the nervous system, relax the mind, release stress, worries, tension and re calibrate ourselves.

After we soak up the healing vibrations from the Gong you can continue to rest and listen to Janette sharing Mantra Meditation or you can join in chanting softly universal Mantras that are ancient and powerful for bringing us inner peace and harmony.

As you relax and bathe in the healing vibrations, your body resonates within these pure tones and you begin to feel returned and in harmony. Healing can happen at cellular level, our bodies, mind and emotions draw from the sounds the vibration that is needed to bring us into inner balance.

Glass Pictures Workshop

Led by Bombina Glass

Welcome to the world of fused glass art! Bombina Glass invites you to join us for an exciting workshop where you'll learn how to create a beautiful, fused glass picture.

During this workshop, you'll discover the process of fusing small pieces of glass together to create larger, cohesive pieces of art. With no experience necessary, you'll learn how to cut and shape glass safely and assemble it for fusing.

Caroline will guide you every step of the way, and all materials are provided.

This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to experiment with different colours, textures, and techniques to create a unique and personalized piece of art. We'll discuss the properties of glass and its compatibility, exploring the different effects that can be achieved using glass frits, powders, and stringers.

At the end of the course, you'll have created a 15cm squared glass tile picture that can be placed in a picture framed for your home. We'll show you how to use glass paint to achieve a strong design and how each colour will affect the one underneath.

Our workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers alike.

This is a great introduction to the world of fused glass art, and we can't wait to share this exciting experience with you.
